Concept Funding
With #TakeHeart, the Fonds Darstellende Künste is continuing with its comprehensive funding measures as part of NEUSTART KULTUR – the rescue and future package for the cultural and media sector financed by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM). The aim of the new program is to mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in the cultural sector, to promote the resumption of cultural life in Germany and to provide artists with planning security and at the same time new forward-looking perspectives for the development of the independent performing arts.
During the pandemic, the further development of conceptual strategies over longer periods of time and away from regular production processes was and still is supported not least by outstanding national groups that often not only attract audiences and attention beyond the borders of their own federal states, but also have international resonance in the art world and are thus an essential part of the further development of the independent performing arts.
The Konzeptionsförderung (concept funding), which has been successful since 2010, therefore serves to highlight such outstanding approaches to the performing arts nationwide and to make them accessible to a larger audience, to perpetuate existing developments in aesthetic creation, and to enable further cooperation in funding, production, and guest performance networks. Thus, within the framework of NEUSTART KULTUR: #TakeHeart, this funding will be relaunched with an increased funding amount, taking into account the circumstances of the additional expenses and reduced income due to the pandemic protection measures.
