#TakeAction | Preformance, Tanz, Sprech- und Musiktheater
In October 2020, the Fonds Darstellende Künste launched the comprehensive #TakeThat package of measures as part of NEUSTART KULTUR – the rescue and future package for the cultural and media sector financed by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM). The aim of this package of measures is to preserve and stabilize the independent performing arts during the coronavirus pandemic. #TakeAction is one part of the comprehensive #TakeThat grants. This six-part grant program targeted self-commissioned artists/groups working in the independent performing arts.
Tailored to the needs and working realities of diverse actors in specific genres, the goal of the funding program was to enable work on new artistic productions under ever-changing pandemic-related conditions and challenges. The program therefore funded production periods that did not necessarily include a premiere date within the project duration.
#TakeAction included six genre-specific subprograms. Of these, this one was aimed at artists/groups from the fields of performance, dance, spoken and musical theater, as well as interdisciplinary theater of the independent performing arts.
