The Fonds Darstellende Künste team will present the application process for the 2026 Theaterpreis des Bundes in a public online information event.
Applications for the Theaterpreis des Bundes, awarded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media, will be accepted from September 1, 2025, until November 15, 2025.
Starting this year, all theaters in the Federal Republic of Germany are eligible to apply for the prize: municipal and state theaters, regional theaters, private theaters, guest performance venues, and independent performing arts production companies. The award recognizes theater structures of all sizes for their remarkable work nationwide.
