Planning, applying for, and implementing cultural projects for young people in a discrimination-sensitive manner | #2 Dealing with anti-democratic and inhumane attitudes in cultural projects and workshops with young people

28 October 2025, 02:00 PM - 04:30 PM

The series of nine workshops focuses on various aspects of discrimination-sensitive project design and provides practical tips for concrete implementation. The second event in the series deals with the topic:

“Dealing with anti-democratic and inhumane attitudes in cultural projects and workshops with young people”

More and more young people agree with misanthropic statements and vote for anti-democratic parties. Discriminatory remarks are considered “normal” opinions, and countering them seems to have little effect. Professionals and educators are constantly challenged in their work and unsure how to respond appropriately.

The workshop aims to strengthen confidence in taking action. It begins with a look at the risk factors and motives that lead young people to adopt such attitudes, in order to understand why and how they do so. This is the only way to find successful approaches and ways of dealing with them. In addition, practical examples will be used to discuss possible responses and identify boundaries as well as resources.
