Planning, applying for, and implementing cultural projects for young people in a discrimination-sensitive manner | #3 Dealing with right-wing youths

12 November 2025, 02:00 PM - 05:00 PM

The series of nine workshops focuses on various aspects of discrimination-sensitive project design and provides practical tips for concrete implementation. The third event in the series deals with the topic:

“Dealing with right-wing youths”

Right-wing extremist attitudes, slogans, and provocations are not a new phenomenon. However, recent studies show that support for right-wing extremist positions is growing, especially among young people. This poses an increasing challenge for professionals. What are the causes of this development? And how can misanthropic attitudes be critically countered without jeopardizing the relationship with young people?

These are the questions addressed in this workshop. After a basic introduction to the topic of right-wing extremism and the question of why it seems particularly attractive to young people, possible courses of action for dealing with right-wing-leaning young people in group settings will be presented. The starting point for this is to reflect on one's own role and attitude in order to develop a thoughtful, professional approach to dealing with right-wing extremist behavior. The aim of the workshop is to provide educational professionals with knowledge, attitudes, and confidence in dealing with right-wing youth.
