Planning, applying for, and implementing cultural projects for young people in a discrimination-sensitive manner | #4 Muslim perspectives on diversity in conversation – Fundamentals of anti-Muslim racism

26 November 2025, 02:00 PM - 05:00 PM

The series of nine workshops focuses on various aspects of discrimination-sensitive project design and provides practical tips for concrete implementation. The fourth event in the series deals with the topic:

“Muslim perspectives on diversity in conversation – Fundamentals of anti-Muslim racism”

The digital workshop teaches the basics of anti-Muslim racism (AMR) and highlights its many forms – in everyday life, in institutions, and in structures. The starting point is a common definition that classifies various terms such as Islamophobia and Islamophobia. Historical lines from colonialism and the Reconquista to current cases in Germany illustrate the continuities. Interactive methods and discussion rounds create space to contribute personal experiences and develop strategies for action based on concrete examples. The workshop is supplemented by current data from annual and monitoring reports that illustrate the extent of the problem. Finally, we provide practical information on reporting centers, legal principles, and recommendations for further reading and podcasts. In this way, knowledge, reflection, and concrete options for action are brought together.
