Aron Weigl

Aron Weigl is managing director of the research and project institute EDUCULT - Thinking and Acting in Culture and Education, based in the MuseumsQuartier Vienna. In this function he supervises studies, evaluations and concept developments in the fields of culture, education and politics, primarily in Austria, Germany and Switzerland as well as throughout Europe. The focus is particularly on questions at the interfaces of these areas. Among others, this resulted in, for example, the study on funding structures of cultural education in relation to the independent performing arts (Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste 2018), the evaluation of the theater festival "Politik im Freien Theater" 2018 in Munich (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung 2019) and the utilization and operational concept for the new children's and youth theater in Frankfurt (Kulturamt Frankfurt am Main 2020). Aron Weigl received his doctorate from the University of Hildesheim on the topic of foreign cultural policy and is a member of the scientific advisory board of the International Conference for Cultural Policy Research.
