Klaus Lederer

Klaus Lederer, born in Schwerin in 1974, holds a doctorate in law. From 2005 to 2016, he served as state chairman of the PDS/Die Linke in Berlin, and from 2003 to 2016—and again from 2021 through October 2026—he has been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives. From 2016 to 2023, he served as mayor and Senator for Culture and European Affairs of the State of Berlin. His books "Saving the World with the Left: For a Radical Humanism” was published in 2024 by Kanonverlag, and “Queer Politics in the Thick of It: A Look Back, a Look Ahead” in 2026 by Querverlag. Klaus Lederer has been an independent since 2024. He lives in Berlin as a freelance leftist and analog influencer.
