Shlomi Moto Wagner

Shlomi Moto Wagner is an interdisciplinary performance artist, director, opera singer, composer, and drag queen aka. Mazy Mazeltov. Born in Israel, they studied at the Tel Aviv Music Academy, the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and towards an MA in Interdisciplinary Arts.
As an opera singer, Shlomi was a member of the Opera Studio of the Israeli Opera and has performed as a soloist with orchestras worldwide. Since relocating to Berlin in 2012, they have collaborated with various opera ensembles and experimental theater makers, including Philine Rinnert and Johannes Müller. They have performed internationally at prominent venues and festivals, including the Sophiensaele, HAU, Ballhaus Ost, English Theatre, and Deutsche Oper in Berlin; Kampnagel in Hamburg; the Staatsoper and Theater Rampe in Stuttgart; the Operadagen festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands; Burg Hülshoff in Münster; the Favoriten festival in Dortmund; the Copenhagen Opera Festival in Denmark; and the Lila Queer Festival in Zürich, Switzerland.
Shlomi is also the founder of the House of Mazeltov, a drag performance group that explores the performative aspects of voice, gender, tradition, and identity. In 2017, they premiered their first solo performance, “Salvation (Glitter Doesn’t Care I’m a Boy),” in Berlin. This has been followed by works such as “ADAMA: Secret Life of Stones,” "DRAG&DRUM," and "Richard Wagner - The Drag Queen!"
