#TakeHeart (English)

With its new funding program #TakeHeart, the Fonds Darstellende Künste is continuing its support measures with funds of NEUSTART KULTUR – the rescue and future-oriented package for the cultural and media fields financed by the German Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM). The goal of this new program is to ease the impact of COVID-19 in the cultural sphere, to facilitate the restart of cultural life in Germany and to offer planning security and new pioneering perspectives for the development of the independent performing arts.

 

Rechercheförderung

Research and conceptual development of artistic projects without any determined outcome are supported, as are projects that serve artistic further education as well as qualification.

Individual artists and curators, who can provide proof that they have been working professionally for at least three years in the independent performing arts.

7.500 € (individuals) 

  • applicants must have been working professionally or in curation in the independent performing arts for at least three years
  • applicants have not received a Residenzförderung in the #TakeHeart context
  • applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have been involved in publicly funded projects or guest performances, which toured nationally (in numerous German federal states) or internationall

Residenzförderung

Projects without any determined outcome such as research, laboratories and conception in combination with a venue from the Bündnis internationaler Produktionshäuser, the flausen+ bundesnetzwerk or the Netzwerk Freier Theater.

Artists, artist groups and curators from the independent performing arts that are connected to one of the venues of the Bündnis internationaler Produktionshäuser (BiP), the flausen+ bundesnetzwerk or the Netzwerk Freier Theater.

5.000 € (individuals)
5 x 5.000 € (collectives and groups) in pooled individual applications 

  • Letter of intent from one of the production houses that are participating in the program
  • applicants are not mostly publicly supported on a regular basis (institutional support)
  • applicants must have been involved in professional, artistic or curatorial positions in projects of the independent performing arts that were publicly funded.
  • applicant must have been professionally active artistically or in curation of the independent performing arts in the last three years
  • applicants shall not receive or have received a Research Grant in the #TakeHeart framework

professional artists, artist groups, ensembles, collectives and projects from all categories and genres of the independent performing arts with their headquarters and work located in Germany

10.000 € – 50.000 €, or in exceptional well-reasoned cases up to 80.000 € 

  • applicants are not mostly publicly supported on a regular basis (institutionally)
  • financial own participation at a level of at least 10% of the application sum

Netzwerk- und Strukturförderung

(digital) interstate cooperation projects in the field of knowledge transfer and qualification in the liberal performing arts that include at least one major discussion event, symposium, congress, or other information event on further education or subject-specific exchange of nationwide relevance

long-standing active associations, production centers, networks, production offices and supra-regional festivals of the independent performing arts that are organized as a legal entity. Artistic productions and guest performances are not eligible.

Konzeptionsförderung

  • approved co-financing of 50% by one single public grant
  • at least 80% of the three-year concept project financing (including the sum applied for at the Fonds) must be secured by 01.02.2022
