Did Tschechow have VR glasses? And if he had?

In the artist lab "Digital Nomads - an international ensemble in virtual reality", artists from Ukraine and Germany will examine the extent to which they can use VR technology to improve their relationships with unknown and familiar audiences.

For this purpose, the "Studio for Infinite Possibilities" equips the lab team with the technical equipment, after which the participating performers develop performances and scenes in small teams in virtual space.

The performances are developed in two variants: a variant with active participation of the audience and a non-participatory one. Following the performances, audiences and artists will be surveyed about the performances using a digital questionnaire. The questions are developed in collaboration with the dramaturge Ilja Mirsky, who specializes in digital theater at the Munich Residenztheater. The audience will take part in the performances on October 11th and 12th, as well as at the B.A.L.L. at Kampnagel on October 21st and 22nd. A special feature of the Artist Lab is the testing of VR performances for a young audience with a school class from Hamburg on October 11th, 2023, who are taking part in a workshop for theater and VR by the Hamburg theater group 'under construction'.
