Bundesforum 2017

In the fall of 2017, with the BUNDESFORUM, Fonds Darstellende Künste and Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste initiated a dialogue platform between arts and funding institutions, as a nationwide "Alliance for the Independent Performing Arts."

It was a day of exchange and dialogue, a successful launch of a targeted cooperation of the actors of the independent scene for a dynamic funding landscape! Around 200 actors from the independent performing arts as well as representatives from politics and funding institutions gathered at the Podewil venue in Berlin to discuss the potentials and challenges of the current funding structure within the framework of the BUNDESFORUM 2017.

The BUNDESFORUM 2017 showed how important the continuous exchange between art practice, politics and funding institutions is and provided all the participants with important insights and starting points, which can be seen as a first dynamic impetus for an ongoing, more in-depth debate.

The results were summarized in the publication released in spring 2018 (see download) – as a basis for further dialogue between the actors of the independent performing arts and the German funding landscape, the German Association of Cities, the Conference of Ministers of Culture and the cultural policy representatives of the new federal government.

The BUNDESFORUM 2017 was the first joint action of the Alliance for the Independent Performing Arts.
