HOF LABOR

LOKSTOFF! theater in public space

What would it take? That people get to know each other better and not this "I am city, you are country..." (Citizens from Stuttgart)

In the "HOF LABOR" the artists go in search of urban and rural cultural heritage together with other artists, experts, citizens and above all our audience. Accompanying the creation of our new production "7 HERTZ – Vor der Stadt" they come into exchange and contact – not only between city and countryside, but also between agriculture and art.

The word "culture" has its origin in agriculture. Over the centuries, it has developed into a term that applies to all areas of life in which people cultivate and create something. This is the basic idea of "HOF LABOR" and from this they have developed formats that enable, support and advance rapprochement and exchange. They go to the weekly markets in Stuttgart and Ruit to find out what people in the city and in the countryside have to say about agriculture, culture and theater. There are events with the farmer family from the Pappelhof and with interested people from the city and the countryside to approach agriculture and theater together. They open up the rehearsal process and can again and again be found at the vegetable stand in front of the farm for conversations. They gather impressions, perspectives and ideas to know more about the similarities and differences of our urban and rural audiences.
