In the artist lab, "Moving audience – moving artists?! – A Mobility-Check" they investigate questions of mobility, as well as strategies for audience development in the context of the challenging infrastructural conditions in Thuringia. The brain drain, the need for reforms in public funding structures, and the rise of the New Right are all part of their working reality. As the only artist lab in Thuringia, they aim to incorporate as many perspectives as possible and establish the temporary artists' collective: PHOENIX_KANNAWURF_stellwerk weimar_AVANT ART.

During a workshop journey, they visit each other. They discuss research questions related to the audiences among their selves and with the audience. This process leads to radical collaborations, networking, knowledge exchange, and an invitation to depart from established practices and explore new ones.

Key questions include: Who needs to be mobile? And: What defines an audience? A modular questionnaire activates all participants to engage with their audience. Through this process, they develop and test a toolbox for audience development. The toolbox and the questionnaire will be made available to everyone in an open-access format. This approach extends beyond Thuringia, fostering research and networking practices on a regional and interdisciplinary level.
