Producing Future Audiences

LEAD Productions / Producers Academy #6

Producers are creative and administrative actors at the interfaces between the public and artists, institutions and initiatives.

In this lab, 14 creative producers sensitized, networked and activated themselves on pressing issues and discourses in the performing arts. Producers act in various fields of work in the performing arts as creative and administrative actors at the interface between audiences on the one hand and artists, institutions and initiatives on the other.

As creative producers, they carry out work that is often invisible and that should be made transparent here. Through mutual support, shared knowledge and the consolidation of our network, we share existing expertise and awareness, expand them and make them fit for the future.

They met for a seven-day lab in Wendland: conception, implementation and curation were organized collectively and heterarchically.

The topics of the working sessions were cultural creation in rural areas, the sharing of artistic processes with audiences, reflection on digital formats, funding structures and their utopias, power-critical and intersectional work, accessibility, and the aesthetics of access. Andrea Hingst, Natascha Anahita Nassir-Shahnian, Annika Heinrichs, Michael Turinsky and Agnieszka Habraschka were invited as experts.
