Social Choreographies in a Troubling Time and Place

PSR Collective

The PSR collective will gather with ten artists and practitioners to discuss the last years, how the pandemic shaped them and what the future holds.

The artists will reflect on what they have learned over the last years of increased arts funding curating and producing events that engage various communities at the Heizhaus, Uferstudios in Berlin.

The six members of the PSR collective will gather with artists, practitioners and/or community members with whom they have collaborated with in the last years and/or with whom they want to work with in the future. Their departure point for dialogue will happen through the lens of four topics: queer subcultural artists and their interactions with arts funding and institutions, disabled artists’ experience of the pandemic, the impact of space – in terms of both sharing physical space and exceeding national borders through online events –, and the impact of time and geopolitics, which they have explored through durational formats which seek to bring different communities together.

Each of these elements could be an entire lab topic in itself, however rather than focus exclusively on one of them, they will bring them together and see what knowledge can be produced by this cross-pollination, which reflects the ways in which the collective collaborates – through practices of unlikely encounters.
