Class matters: Wie soziale Herkunft beeinflusst, wer ins Theater kommt

With: Nenad Čupić, Daniel Wetzel, Rhiannon White, Vanessa Vu (moderator)

Working in the arts is precarious – but for some more than others. Access to artistic training, knowledge of cultural codes, networks and funding instruments are closely linked to social background. Staying in the arts, without a safety net or inheritance, is not a given, especially in times of crisis. Yet it is often artists with working class backgrounds who break down barriers to cultural participation through their formats, themes and locations beyond prestigious buildings. What role does social background play in the relationship between artists and audiences? The panel discussion provides insights into the critique of classism and addresses class issues within an artistic context.
