Bits and Bytes

Laura Tontsch & Marion Kleine-Onnebrink

There is a need for analog spaces in city centers where the digital can be practiced together and thus cultural participation can be strengthened.

At "Bits and Bytes", you can learn about virtual reality, artificial intelligence, digital life, gaming, coding, and online security through six interactive stations. The artists believe that involving the community with digital technology is essential for cultural participation. When people have the opportunity to explore these technologies informally, they can better appreciate new cultural experiences. Booking online is now possible, and the VR exhibition is a hot favorite, clearing up any confusions around interactivity.

"Bits and Bytes" serves as a place for informal exploration and exchange. You can ask questions and get answers. They see ourselves as a laboratory, aiming to understand what people in our city need to keep up with and understand technological advancements. How can a space like this, located on one of the main shopping streets, contribute to this goal?

More detailed documentation of the lab can be found behind the following keywords, which invite you to browse.
