How can theater be a good neighbor?

With "Exploring Nachbarschaft(en)" the NFT takes a closer look at six local areas. In artistic explorations, their network theaters examine how the relationships between theaters, artists and audiences have changed since the pandemic. These local positions come together at the B.A.L.L. to form a nationwide perspective.

The PATHOS Theater in Munich asks two artists to reconnect to their work throughout the Corona pandemic and to reflect on it artistically. The studioNAXOS in Frankfurt dops the questions how theater can be a good neighbor. Because in times of globalization, the neighborhood may be the place where the next social transformation will take place. Since 2021 there has been a theater ship at the WUK Theater Quartier, on which the ensemble p&s explores the East German transformation of society as 'Revierpioniere'. How intensively, theaters were missed as places of community became apparent at Leipzig's LOFFT. That's why the foyers are now to be redesigned. But how should a foyer for everyone look like? 2023 Karsten Wiesel creates cinematic encounters between artists and audience at Pilkentafel in Flensburg and asks about theater in the pandemic and what has changed since then.
