RE:VALUATION NOW**

FORMATION NOW**

More funding and low-threshold access is needed to sustain arts of color.

Over the course of two days, the "RE:VALUATION NOW**" laboratory created a space in which, on the one hand, the versatility and relevance of perspectives of color for Hamburg were highlighted and, on the other, actors from dance, spoken word, performance and theater were brought into exchange. The focus was primarily on artists who developed new event formats during the pandemic and their audiences.

At various moments during the lab, artists of color and visitors came together and engaged in conversation. In the format "Connecting The Dots", the central questions of the lab were discussed during a joint brunch: What's next for art now that certain funding has been eliminated? How can the new diversity (more visibility, new formats and offerings) in the independent performing arts, which became possible in the course of basic funding during the pandemic, be further developed and a sustainable experience of art of color and its audiences be guaranteed in the future? What strategies have already emerged to do this? What can institutional support look like now? The artists understand the lab as a first step towards a sustainable development of associations and structures.
