Research funding

The new funding programs of the Fonds Darstellende Künste, which are being announced in 2023, focus on the fields of research, production and networking and thus enable numerous projects for individual artists, artist groups and structures of all disciplines and genres in the nationwide independent performing arts.

The research funding is an updated version of the Fonds’ previous grant-like funding programs and is aimed at self-commissioned individual artists working in the independent performing arts.

The aim of the research funding program is to provide artists working across the federal states with appropriately remunerated working time to reflect on the meaning and practice of their own artistic work and to develop forward-looking forms of production, performance and/or mediation through detailed research.

Open-ended artistic research and conceptual development of artistic production projects, as well as projects that serve artistic qualification.
