Revival funding

Artistic works need a perspective beyond the premiere. Funding for revivals ensures that productions are approached in a way that conserves resources through repeat performances, adaptations and guest performances spanning several federal states. With revival funding, the Fonds Darstellende Künste therefore provides artists/groups with the time and space for the revival and the further development or revision of productions previously funded by the Fonds Darstellende Künste that have already had their premiere.

What is funded?

Revival funding is intended for the revival and, if necessary, artistic or formal reworking of existing successful and promising productions of the independent performing arts that have already had a premiere.

The production intended for revival must have previously been funded in one of the following programs of the Fonds Darstellende Künste: production funding (from 2023 onwards), #TakeHeart | Process funding, concept funding.

The productions being applied for revival must be performed at least twice within the framework of the funding.

Who can apply?

Artists/groups, ensembles, collectives and projects of all disciplines and genres of the independent performing arts based and working in Germany who have been producing professionally for many years (at least 2 years) and who can present visual documentation of the production intended for revival (complete video recording).

How much can be applied for?

The amount that can be applied for to the Fonds is a minimum of €10,000 and a maximum of €25,000.

Co-financing from public funds (federal states and/or local authorities) amounting to at least 50% of the application amount must be provided at the time of application.
