TRANSFORMATION: Discussions and opinions from within the independent performing arts

On June 5, 2021, the Fonds was a guest at the festival "Claiming Common Spaces III" with the online event "TRANSFORMATIONEN - Gespräche und Positionen aus den Freien Darstellenden Künsten" (TRANSFORMATION - Discussions and opinions from within the independent performing arts). The aim was to question, in discussion with those involved in the independent performing arts, the potential for change and modifications to the conditions of independent production.

#TakeThatTalks | Episode 1 with Janina Benduski

In the #TakeThatTalks series the Fonds Darstellende Künste has initiated a dialogue with various guests. Together we look at the current situation for the independent performing arts and discuss possible perspectives for the time "after corona."
In the first edition, Holger Bergmann welcomes Janina Benduski, former chair of the board of the Bundesverband Freie Darstellende Künste, board member of LAFT Berlin, co-founder of the production collective ehrliche arbeit and program director of the Performing Arts Festival.Tags

#TakeThat | Funding of 56 million euros already approved

It has already been a year since the first stages had to close due to the corona pandemic, and the measures to contain the pandemic are still having a huge impact on culture. The Fonds is continuing to work on expanding its support to stabilize independent arts production. To this end, the #TakePart program is being relaunched in a new form.

#TakeThat | 3,000 projects already funded to the tune of 45 million euros

In 2021, the fund will be called #TakeCare. An application volume of 100 million euros has already been reached. Further applications can be submitted for the #TakeCare and #TakePart programs as of February 01, 2021.

#TakeThat | 4,000 applications already received

Around 4,000 applications to the #TakeThat programs, with a total application volume of 90 million euros, point to a great need for funding in the independent performing arts. Holger Bergmann, managing director of the Fonds, gives an insight into the current situation in a video statement and argues for an extension of the project period for NEUSTART KULTUR and, with it, for more planning certainty for artists.
